Movie Watchlist 2025
The best movie experience I had this year was undoubtably Inland Empire
I'd seen this years ago on a laptop and watched it in two parts... and while I enjoyed aspects of it, it felt like an
unnecessarily obtuse and challenging movie. A chore to get through.
Having the chance to see it for a second time and in the cinema, with the aid of some mushroom drops,
completely changed my opinion on the movie. It's a nightmarish masterpiece of atmosphere
Effortlessly switching between moments of absurd humour and absolute anxiety filled terror
Perhaps not as clearly distilled into a rounded movie like Blue Velvet or Mulholland Drive, I feel like
this movie is the most absolute & purest Lynchian vision put on film.
And its stature will only increase as the years go by
